- The number of patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is gradually increasing and there also increase in postoperative complications. patient's demographic, socio-economic factors, hospital clinical factors are all that can influence purpose this study was to determine the risk associated with complications following TKA a large national cohort.Among diagnosed primary arthrosis, 560,954 older than 50 years who underwent from January 1, 2005 December 31, 2018 were included study. (surgical site infection, sepsis, cardiovascular complications, respiratory pulmonary embolism, stroke, acute renal failure, periprosthetic joint fracture) assessed eight independent variables: gender, age, place residence, household income, bed size, procedure type (unilateral or bilateral, revision TKA), length stay (LOS), use transfusion. Multivariable Cox Proportional Hazard model analysis used. significant predictors for (P < .05) as follows.Surgical infection: male, (bilateral, revision), LOS (≥35 days), Sepsis: Cardiovascular complications: Respiratory Pulmonary embolism: Stroke: Acute failure: Periprosthetic fracture: transfusion.In summary, transfusion shown be TKA.
